From the series "Untitled" (Cuba). 11/2014. I grew up in Guatemala during that country’s civil war and the arduous years of repressive military dictatorships. Communism was a taboo subject.
In November of 2014, I had the opportunity to travel to Cuba for ten days. I photographed every day from daybreak until well into the night. A week after I returned, the governments of the United States and Cuba announced their joint decision to normalize relations between both countries. It felt like the end of an era.
