(Ambiguous) Loss
I noticed changes in my mom years before her Alzheimer's diagnosis in 2017. When I attempt to describe the impact of this disease to others, I often come back to the analogy of disappearing ink- not just her memory, but her essence. This is the last photo I took of my mom at home before her move to memory care. So much is gone now but I try to appreciate what remains.
