Sister Salvina
Sister Salvina stands inside a makeshift shelter known as “the cage,” a chain-link enclosure beneath a bridge near Marin Street, off Evans and Cesar Chavez, in San Francisco. A nun with the Missionaries of Charity, the order founded by Mother Teresa, she provides food, clothing, and care to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.
