This ongoing project documents the remnants of ancient lakes that became visible in Death Valley National Park after extraordinary rainfall in late fall 2025. A significant accumulation of water led to the sudden appearance of vast lakes in one of the hottest and driest places on Earth.
By documenting this desert landscape as it briefly transformed from dry lakebeds into still waters stretching to the horizon, I hope to show how climate change is reshaping our environment—even in the most extreme places, such as Death Valley, where average annual rainfall is less than 2 inches.
