Getting Ready
"Getting Ready" is part of a larger, ongoing body of work centering around queer family and kinship. In our current political climate finding community and taking care of each other is more important than ever before. This photograph looks into the lives of two friends of mine, getting ready to leave for the night. Looking through a window strewed with bottles of estrogen, lip gloss, lighters, and other aspects of daily life, the viewer is allowed entry into a moment that would otherwise remain invisible.
