Miranda Molea knew Melody Rooks, 33, from a stint each of them did in Multnomah County Jail. Rooks, who also went by Jazmyne, was “kind and bubbly,” Molea said. “She didn’t deserve to be murdered, that’s for sure,” she said.
Rooks was found dead near a grocery store at Northeast 104th Avenue and Wasco Street, where someone in a car allegedly shot her and drove off.
Molea, who is currently living in a Gresham motel, still has a note, shown here, that Rooks gave her, hoping the two could stay in touch.
