Venezuelan Diaspora - Noah

My love for Venezuela is ever present and my goal is to show the diverse faces and experiences of the Venezuelan diaspora in the U.S., especially during these times. Every portrait carries a bit of my own immigration experience within it. My influences here are Venezuelan artists such as Arturo Michelena and Cristóbal Rojas, as well as classic renditions of Latin American leaders in historic paintings, through which I attempt to reclaim power and dignity within the diaspora.

Childhood

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always longed to freeze childhood and hold onto it as long as I could. Be it my own and now my daughter’s I keep yearning to stop its fleeting nature. Bubbles for me are a big part of the wonder of childhood. I made sure to capture the giant bubble at the right time so it could play a double role of whimsy and ephemeral.
