This work is from my ongoing family work called “ West County” featuring primarily my eldest daughter as she navigates childhood. Centrally this work is a document of our family life with all the temporality, love, fragility, joy and the everyday that exists in families everywhere.
What is different about the mother gaze? Respect, love and a constant desire to understand what motivates my children and how I can support them. For me, this gaze also reflects a tender process of continual change as my daughters grow, and I navigate the complexities of motherhood.
