The title comes from a poem called Magellanic Penguin by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. I've spent some time watching penguins and identified with his verse. The last line of the poem reads: "Penguin, static traveler, deliberate priest of the cold, I salute your vertical salt and envy your plumed pride."
