Inside the Mountain Stronghold of an Elusive Rebel Movement
Abil Musa, 15, a Nuba cattle herder, in front of a Sudanese Armed Forces tank destroyed by the S.P.L.M. on the outskirts of Kadugli. The rebel movement SPLM-N granted the photographer Moises Saman access to its territory in the Nuba Mountain. This was a rare chance to visit the front lines of a civil war that remains unknown to most people outside the country. August 2024.
