Alamosa's Sanctioned Camp Takes Care of Its People
Christi Buchanan and Ricky Plunket rode bikes from Texas to Alamosa, Colo. to escape poverty and addiction. The two found housing after receiving help at the St. Benedict sanctioned homeless camp. Alamosa has considered closing the camp since the Supreme Court's Grants Pass decision.
Following the Grants Pass Supreme Court decision, the rural city of Alamosa debated whether to shutter a sanctioned encampment for the San Luis Valley's unhoused community.
