At 116, She Has Outlived Generations of Loved Ones. But Her Entire Town Has Become Family.
WILLITS, CALIFORNIA - February 4, 2024: Evelyn Persico kisses family member Edith Ceccarelli prior to Ceccarelli's community wide 116th birthday parade and celebration at the Holy Spirit Residential Care Home. At the time, Ceccarelli was the oldest person in the U.S. and the second oldest person in the world. She died two weeks after her 116th birthday.
