Following a fifth consecutive failed rainy season, Somalia already in its longest drought in recorded history, which has decimated harvests and livestock. Together with the ripple effects of the war in Ukraine, the shortages have led to massive food and fuel costs which in turn is crippling countries reliant on cheaper imports and humanitarian aid, such as Somalia.
