Serhiy Dukhli lay dead in his own yard, along with his brother-in-law, Roman Havryliuk, and an unknown man. Neighbors and family members said Russian soldiers who had occupied nearby houses shot the men, along with the unknown man who had sought refuge after escaping from the neighboring suburb of Irpin. The Russian forces also killed their two dogs. His family said Dukhli had stayed at his home to look after his dogs.
