New York State Capitol. Budget Season Activism. April 2022. All eyes turn to Albany when New York State lawmakers assemble to negotiate the annual budget. Passionate citizens from around the state descend upon the Capitol to sway their representatives and demand policy change. They bring signs, hold news conferences, pound on locked doors and march. Their loud chants are nearly deafening as the sights and sounds of discontent fill the hallways and stairways.
