Soutu - On the water

Orivesi, Finland. Soutu - On the water. November 2021. There is a rich tradition of rowing in Finland; it is both a practical pursuit and a leisurely one. When you see a boat on the water, it can be coming or going from anywhere. What is personal to that rower cannot be seen when you spot a boat from a distance. Is there a freshly caught fish in the bottom, or a six-pack of beer? Or is there just quiet and thought. My latest personal project Soutu...Rowing.

Peak time at the ATM

Morongo, California.Peak time at the ATM. May 2021.I am so happy I got to experience a POW WOW, a specific type of event for Tribal American people to meet and dance, sing, socialize, and honor their cultures. Thunder and Lightning Pow Wow in my neighborhood, Morongo. A happening so beautiful, one with a camera should not miss. But the light was not good at all, direct sun, no clouds in sight. Necessity knows no law. I saw a mobile ATM tent with three white walls and a ceiling. I got myself a pop up studio. No one seem to mind, the people I photographed nor the people visiting the teller. Me, I just felt very lucky.
