Canary. February 2021. From the series Gaslite, a series reflecting on the aftermath of a fervid love affair manufactured on the back of psychological manipulation, surveillance, and female emotional labor. Images navigate the journey taken on the slow crawl back to the autonomous self, which proves to be as painfully illuminating as it is intoxicating. This portrait explores the concept of being surveilled both emotionally and literally within ones space, and how that engendered forfeiture of privacy and self has a lasting toll.
