The Genesee Oaks are a collection of large, open grown oak trees created by former Onöndowa’ga (Seneca) tribes. The Seneca tribe cleared land for hunting and growing crops. Periodic burning maintained hunting lands allowing the oaks seen today to achieve their large canopy and thick trunked form.
