Mother and Child. February 2021. One from the series The New Abnormal, a large-scale tableau photo series about life carrying on in the new normal of climate change and mega fires. In this body of work, society may have gotten used to living in this dystopian world under nightmarish skies. The idea that living with climate change is “just another day” is depicted with a tinge of dark humor and social commentary. Kids enjoy a “smoke day” from school. Burnt orange/red becomes a fashionable statement. A man vapes underneath his mask. But still, a despondent and uncertain future is ahead.
