Washington DC BLM Protests. May 2020. Security forces push back protesters near cars that were set afire, a few blocks from the White House, on May 31, 2020. The Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Washington, DC, began en masse on May 29th, 2020. Thousands of protestors would gather each day near Lafayette Park and march through the city. Their activism brought new attention to long-simmering issues of racial injustice in America.
