Wandering

Idlewild, MI. Wandering July 2020. Once called the “Black Eden,” Idlewild, MI was a resort town welcoming Black vacationers when many did not. It’s a place where my family’s lakefront cottage has rested for 101 years. In the summer of 2020, I spent more time there than decades before, finding peace, reflection & echoes of history. "Wandering" is one image from that summer.

Sergio's Runway. February 21020. Before the pandemic forced the world shut down in March of 2020, NYFW happened in February. Model fittings, streetstyle, hair & makeup, the runway, the final walk. The stylish & fashion-focused were out. In the streets. In the front row. On the scene. "Sergio's Runway" was captured during the final walk of the Sergio Hudson AW20 show, where he showcased beautifully rich pieces full of style and attitude, accompanied a banging soundtrack. Little did we know, that would likely be The Last Normal Fashion Week for us all.
