Unseen Redemption. June 2019. The Zabbaleen (arabic for trash collectors) who live in the suburb of Cairo, Egypt nicknamed Garbage City, are some of the most prolific recyclers in the world, salvaging 80-90% of all waste, though some of the methods are extremely hazardous. One of the highest value materials salvaged is aluminum though the work often covers everything in the area, including workers, in fine dust of aluminum.
