The Flying Cholitas. May 2019. Shot on iPhone XS. In 2019, Apple commissioned Brazilian photographer, Luisa Dörr, to spend four days capturing an association of female wrestlers in based in El Alto, Bolivia, 13.600 ft above sea level.
The Flying Cholitas' skills and creativity are empowering women across Bolivia to explore their cultural pride and artistic expression. In addition to documenting their everyday lives, one of the key concepts was to set a wrestling ring in the impressive mountains at the city outskirts showing their fascinating universe in the highest city in the world.
A short film was produced along with a behind-the-scenes director's cut narrated by Luisa Dörr herself. The Shot on iPhone campaign is currently featured on Apple's global Instagram and YouTube channels including Luis Dörr's own Instagram channel.
