The Lift, from the series What We Need Is Here. January 2018. In 2011 I drove down a series of dirt roads in rural Virginia and paid my first visit to 72 acres of land and the community that exists there. I'm interested in what the structure of this place allows for - the freedom, the connection both to the land and to each other, the rawness, the tension.
