Aliya Ismail, grandmother, kisses Hawra Hasan, 4 who is injured with small shrapnel wounds all over her face, neck and left eye, along with a broken foot, after Hasan was pulled from the rubble by her father after the March 17 air strike that hit the Aghawat Jadidah neighborhood of Mosul., Iraq. Hasan is often crying for her mother, Meada, who died in the air strike and her father Alaa could not retrieve her body until 3 days later due to the heavy fighting in the area. The surviving family spent three days hiding from militants before they were able to flee to a nearby hospital.
