Despite winning the national popular vote, on November 8, 2016, U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton suffered a surprise loss via the Electoral College to her Republican rival Donald Trump. Trump's victory made the seventy year old the oldest and richest person to assume the American presidential seat, and the first without previous governmental or military service. One study argues it was Trump's grandiosity which attracted voters, while others claim it was his populist message paired with a dislike for Clinton. These are some of Clinton’s stunned female supporters at her Election Night headquarters, the Javits Center in New York, who got a front row view as poll numbers began to favor Trump as the presumptive winner.
