YY in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY. YY in Red. November 2016. I photograph people who live in the same city and are related to each other by profession.
I am involved in Downtown New York performing arts scene since 2012. While photographing theatre and dance, I developed a personal friendship with many of performer's. This relationship has given me the opportunity to focus on a series of portraits, spanning what I feel is a Renaissance in performance art in the City of New York.
I want to present these people to the viewer, as they are, outside of their everyday life and their performing life.
