Houston Master Pilot Sean Cook. December 2016. This was the lead image from my project on the Houston Ship Channel and Port Houston, the busiest port for deep-draft vessels in the United States.
My project is 1 of 12 commissioned by The Atlantic on the theme of Landscapes of American Work.

The ship channel begins 5 miles east of Houston, runs through one of the largest petrochemical complexes in the world and terminates 52 miles later in the Gulf of Mexico.
My project follows some of the key workers that make it operational.
