Truckers For Trump, published July 2016 in Newsweek
Trucker Jim Morrison catches-up on some sleep as his child plays with one of the family’s dogs while wife Lorraine drives the couple's 18-wheeler east through Nebraska. Truckers For Trump. July 2016. Truckers for Trump, a group of professional long-haul truckers organized via social media by the husband-and-wife trucking team to show their support for presidential candidate Donald Trump, drive from California to Cleveland to participate in the Republican National Convention. Although the Morrison's had anticipated to be joined on the cross-country trek by dozens of the 5,000 professional truckers in their group, wound up the only participants on the journey and once in Cleveland, were unable to find passes or afford tickets into any of the RNC events. Still though they were undeterred and confident that their costly and time-consuming drive helped to not only spread the message of Mr. Trump, but to also bring about a greater awareness to the struggles independent owner/operator truck drivers face.
