Electric Avenue. Minnesota is the northernmost state in the contiguous US, with snow on the ground for seven months. It’s also the coldest. So every year in the heat of August, my home state celebrates the demise of summer by hosting the largest state fair in the nation, with up to 250,000 people in attendance at any given moment.
