The Democratic Republic of Congo, two from a series for the article “Inside M23 and Congo's Rebel Uprising,” December 2, 2012. The Democratic Republic of Congo has suffered violence and war as far back as the late 19th century and the brutal regime of Leopold II of Belgium, who was responsible for the deaths of as many as 15 million Congolese.
