'Robert Caro’s Big Dig'

Robert Caro, Office near Columbus Circle, Smith Corona Electra 210, two from a series for the article “Robert Caro’s Big Dig,” April 15, 2012, as The Passage of Power, his latest in a series of biographies about Lyndon B. Johnson, was published. Caro spent the last 36 years and 3,388 pages telling the story of LBJ. He writes his first drafts in longhand on large legal pads dressed in a suit and begins to type only after four or five of these drafts.
