Emily enters her father's home in Charlottesville, VA, Southwood, July 2011. The Southwood mobile home park is the most significant concentration of affordable housing in the Charlottesville area. It will be removed and replaced with a mixed income housing development in the next five years. The closure is symbolic of a nationwide decline in this once ubiquitous form of affordable housing, which today faces significant stigmatization in American society.
