Rock Steady
Norway, one for the article "Rock Steady," August 14, 2011. Norway's Pulpit Rock makes a jaw-dropping first impression on visitors -- the flat slab sits roughly 2,000 feet above the waters of the Lysefjord, with precipitous drops on three sides and a conspicuous absence of safety railings. But that doesn't stop the thousands of sightseers who trek upward of two hours through rough terrain every summer day to get to the promontory, one of the country's most popular tourist attractions.
