Skating on Thick Ice
Eagle River, Wisconsin, one for the article "Skating on Thick Ice," March 6, 2011, an aerial photograph of the Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships, which was held on Dollar Lake in Eagle River, Wisc. The ice was more than 20 inches thick supported the weight of 1,700 players, their equipment, fans and one life-size, inflatable Austin Powers mascot, courtesy of Milwaukee’s Fembots — an all-female squad that wears hot-pink jerseys and blond wigs.
