Evi has been living at Yayasin Bina Lestari, a private shelter, Brebas, Central Java, Indonesia for more than two years. She was fifteen when she began to experience hallucinations. Her family pays for her platform bed and for the Islamic based spiritual treatments. Medications are not used. One of two legal shelters in the area is a foundation under the local Brebas department of religion. There are no mental hospitals or clinics close enough to access. One from the personal series Chasing Stigma, January 2011.
