This fully-illustrated picture book follows America’s first female detective Kate Warne as she races to save the life of President-elect Abraham Lincoln from an assassination attempt on the eve of his first inauguration. These collage paintings reference the early Victorian-era scrapbooks of late 19th century, portraying the simultaneous action and tension of the story within sequential vignettes throughout each spread, along with “easter egg” clues and the ever-ticking clock to delight observant readers time after time.
