from the book Day After the Waste Land
Drawing from the listening station at Love Garden Sounds on a rainy day. These drawings, originally made during weekly sketchbook sessions around town, were not made with publication intent. They celebrated weekly practice and were focused on ritual and building the habit of slowing down and sitting in spaces long enough to really see them. These drawings were allowed to let go of "perfection" and instead boil, wobble, and warp with the energy of the magical places being celebrated. This year, they were collected and published in the Midwestern fever dream of a book: "Day After the Waste Land" by Will Averill, and now serve as a visual love letter to my home, Lawrence, KS.
