Rosey Memories of Main Street, 2025

One out of a selection of six unpublished works from a series of twenty illustrated pieces inspired by vintage Mackinac Island, Michigan, postcards, photographs, and ephemera, featured in my solo exhibition, Mackinac Island Mementos, July 2025. All work is hand-painted on Canson archival paper with pencil and gouache. Rosey Memories of Main Street, 2025 Gouache and pencil on Canson archival paper, 19.5 x 25.5 inches There is nothing more quintessential American and ideal than Main Street, and on Mackinac Island, it serves as the main thoroughfare through town. Painted in pink to represent the rosy sunrises and sunsets, it evokes memories of Main Street.
