Still Standing
In 2025 fires devastated the Pacific Palisades and Altadena CA. Pacific Palisades was my hometown and I was completely shocked and saddened to see my hometown go away in a matter of hours. I made these drawings that year after the fires to help process the tragic landscape I was seeing and that remains even a year after the fires. Still Standing shows a couple seeing the facade of their home which still stands but nothing around them is intact. This work intends on communicating a feeling and collective grief that those who lost their homes are processing. This work is colored pencil on paper and was part of a series of personal artwork.
