Before Central Park, Seneca Village thrived as a predominantly Black community with property owners, churches, and schools. In 1857, eminent domain erased it for the park we know today. The Central Park Conservancy commissioned me to create illustrations reimagining life in Seneca Village, and this is my favorite.
