These are part of a series of acrylic paintings and collages from my graphic memoir, Spirits. I tell a story of getting sober through solo roadtripping, and learning to appreciate the little things in life again. The reader learns about my growth through the writing, never once encountering me as a visual character. Instead, the landscapes of my travels, and my dog companion Coco, drive the reader to view the story through my eyes.
