Portrait of Thomas Paine for Free Society magazine for the article about how his ideas are still valid nowadays. The idea for the portrait was to present Paine as a man who is rooted in the 18th century yet who is still very modern. The illustrated portrait is based solely on 18th century etchings and paintings as there is no photographic reference of Thomas Paine. This gave me lots of freedom to prepare a more modern version of the philosopher.
