One of a series about War
Joan of Arc. One of a series about War. September 2021. I created a short series of icons of war, first drawing them in line and then inverting them into silhouette. [The Teuton is a mechanized horseman. The Greek/Roman figure uses his powers to destroy the bird of peace.] This figure is meant to represent Joan of Arc, but she has an Amazonian quality too. She lacks agency compared to her male counterparts and is both poignant and defiant. But I've read somewhere that female participants in wars tend to be more ruthless and clever than their male counterparts.
