Drive-by Funeral
I illustrated Drive-by Funeral after my grandmother's funeral, who passed away from COVID-19 in March 2020. When drawing, I kept in mind the surreal moment of being in the car with my family, watching men wearing hazmats suits bury her plastic-wrapped coffin, and the feeling of loss and isolation.
