Testing new color combinations of my past works. What if instead of exploring new techniques or style-trends we give new life to old works with subtle changes? An in-progress exploration. "Together" personal work based on a photo of Wolfgang Thaler was used in different colors for the AI38 Call For Entries: WHAT GETS YOUR ATTENTION?
"There is this photo taken by photographer Wolfgang Thaler of Split 3 buildings, Croatia, designed by architect Dinko Kovačić in the late 70s, that fascinates me a lot. I’ve drawn an illustration based on Wolfgang’s photo to tell a story about love and shared it on Instagram during Valentine’s Day. A couple kissing in front of two kissing buildings. World population keeps on growing, we live in increasingly smaller houses, buildings are higher and higher and with the advent of the Internet virtual relationships are a reality. We might estrange ourselves from one another.
However, the modern beauty of Split 3 buildings is telling us another story.
That we were not born to be always alone and we’ll always need to see each other and share a hug. And even our tall buildings can feel the need to share a kiss"
