The pop-up book is "Liah Iau (掠妖)". About the title of the book, “Liah Iau” in Taiwanese means to fill a hungry stomach. “Iau” is pronounced as “hungry” in Taiwanese, and it also shares the same pronunciation with “monster” in Chinese. The concept of this book project is to share the food and langue culture of Taiwan using the pun of hunger and monster to create several Taiwanese street food monsters. Food is the greatest thing in Taiwan; it delivers the nostalgic emotion and taste memory of the country. Putting the food monsters in the paper doll house also shows the close relationship between food and family.
