Body Language
Body Language. January 2015. A personal series, exploring the discomfort of our language and attitude towards how we perceive ourselves and each other physically. Each frame is made to reflect how the words often used by media (hourglass, triangle, pear, etc) are uncomfortable molds for us to fit into. Through social media, I tried to encourage a better language regarding body image, and notes of conversation regarding body image, body shaming, self objectification, and self acceptance. The final image is and invitation to embrace ourselves, our shapes as human beings, and the unique, fun, angular, round and fun creatures we are. "No cookie cutter shape feels as good as being comfortable in your own skin and shape. Let's speak with kindness, and change the language of body image”.
