The Hunters' Farewell
"The Hunters' Farewell" is a visual interpretation of a poem by Joseph von Eichendorff. The poem tells the story of a group of hunters who leave their native forest in order to fight as volunteer soldiers against Napoleon's army. Combining my own illustrations with materials found at flea markets in Germany, I am exploring my feelings of discomfort around visualizing German nostalgia.
