Hippocritter. This is one piece among a series of paintings that are based around the theme of the Ivory and Rhino horn Trade going on today. Though out the world people are realizing the terrible effects this illegal trade is having on mainly African wildlife. Elephants and Rhinos are being absolutely decimated due to the booming middle class of China. Demand for these materials is through the roof and statistically impossible to supply the current demand. This huge issue revolves not mainly around animal/environmental rights but human rights as well. Brave men and woman are being killed in the fight against these newly evolved and militant like poaching gangs. It is a latter that has a couple of main syndicates sitting at the top who are driving this extremely lucrative trade. If this goes on at the rate it is progressing then we can say goodbye to the Elephant's, Rhino's, Lions et cetera with in 15 years time. Make yourself aware of this situation and do what you can to try and help the cause.
